In Memorium Tuckerton Historical Society 2017
Tuckerton Historical Society would like to note the recent passing of two members of our Board of Trustees.
Barbara Bolton. Barbara and her late husband, Bill, were founding members of Tuckerton Historical Society. They were both instrumental in its success over the decades. She was a past President and was currently our Curator. She was our most knowledgeable docent, a walking encyclopedia of Tuckerton's history. The Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission named her as Town Historian for Tuckerton Borough. One of her latest contributions was designing and creating a presentation display case centered on the scale model of the first LEH Quaker Meeting House recently constructed by Mr. Bob Hewitt. Barbara's leadership and dedication to the success of the society was unquestionable, and we will miss her greatly.
Charles Richmond, Jr. Charles “Charlie” was a long time contributing member of the society along with his wife Patricia and son Charles III. He contributed docent coverage and in his role of Building & Grounds saw to the ongoing maintenance needs of the museum. He was a great resource for many aspects of Tuckerton history and his sense of humor was a joy. He was a very proud antique car owner and displayed his car at shows with his family. He will also be missed greatly.
We also offer our sincere condolences to their families and friends.
